How to Play

Play Easter Pile online for free. Easter Pile is a 40-stage timed Mahjong Solitaire game with stones celebrating Easter. Match open pairs of stones & clear the board before the timer runs out. Tiles fill downward when matches beneath them are made. This game is rendered in mobile-friendly HTML5, so it offers cross-device gameplay. You can play it on mobile devices like Apple iPhones, Google Android powered cell phones from manufactures like Samsung, tablets like the iPad or Kindle Fire, laptops, and Windows-powered desktop computers. All game files are stored locally in your web browser cache. This game works in Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and other modern web browsers.

Starting the Game

Select the Play button in the center of the game’s welcome screen to start the game.
Under the Play button are buttons for how to play Help, High Scores, and More Games.
The lower left corner of the welcome screen has a language select dropdown.
The lower right corner of the welcome screen has buttons for social media sharing and game developer information.
Game Controls
- Desktop
  - Use your mouse left click to select an open stone & then select an identical match to remove the pair from the board.
  - Touchscreen devices
    - Tap the screen with a finger to select an open stone & then select an identical match to remove the pair from the board.
    - Controls & indicators
      - The right rail of the game contains the game controls.
        At the top it shows level number, cumulative game score, and remaining level timer.
        At the bottom it shows buttons to shuffle tiles, take a hint, pause the game, switch to full screen mode, control game sound, and control game music.
        Game Play
        Matching stones
        Identical
        You can only match identical stones.
        The design of an Easter egg (or another item) along with the quantity shown on the stone must match precisely.
        Free
        You can only match free stones.
        A free stone has no stone directly atop it & at least one side (left or right) is free of other stones.
        Free stones have a lighter background color, whereas stones that are not open have a darker grayish color.
        Filling down
        As you match stones any stones that are directly above it fall downward.
        Autoshuffle
        The game automatically shuffles the remaining tiles whenever an open matching set no longer exists.
        This means there is always at least one set available to match.
        Automated shuffles do not cost you points.
        Levels
        This game has 40 levels which are unlocked sequentially.
        You can’t go back and replay previously beat levels unless you start the game over again at the first level.
        The first level gives you 2 minutes to match 32 stones, or 16 stone pairs.
        As you progress through the game the number of stones you match increases while the level play time stays the same.
        As you progress through the game and the level timer remains the same while the board design grows more complex with more tiles it is harder to beat the level timer.
        Failing a level
        If you fail a level the game shows a level failed screen with an End Game button. If you click that button you can submit your score, but then your gameplay data is erased.
        If you would like to continue your game instead, refresh your web browser without clicking that button & you can continue your game on the level you lost.
        Scoring
        Your game score is cumulative across levels.
        Scoring points
        Each stone pair you match is worth 50 points.
        Each second you have remaining when you beat a level is worth 6 points.
        Spending points
        Manually shuffling tiles costs 500 points.
        Taking a hint costs 300 points.
        Target Audience
        The game is suited for players who like Mahjong Solitaire tile match games & people who celebrate Easter.
        The game has no adult themed content.
