How to Play

Play Cave Sokoban online for free. Cave Sokoban is a simple retro-styled 12-level sokoban puzzle game for beginners. Push boxes to their rightful places in the maze. Be careful not to push them into corners or other boxes. This game is rendered in mobile-friendly HTML5, so it offers cross-device gameplay. You can play it on mobile devices like Apple iPhones, Google Android powered cell phones from manufactures like Samsung, tablets like the iPad or Kindle Fire, laptops, and Windows-powered desktop computers. All game files are stored locally in your web browser cache. This game works in Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and other modern web browsers.

Starting the Game

On the welcome screen, select the play button below the title of the game to begin.
Toggle the game’s audio by selecting the sound button on the upper right corner.
Pick a level to begin.
Your web browser automatically saves your game progress.
Game Controls
- Desktop
  - Use the arrow keys to move your character.

    - Tap on the arrow buttons below the playing field with your fingers to move.

      - Level selection
        Levels are unlocked in sequence. Solve the first level to unlock the second, and so on.
        You can replay the other levels you’ve unlocked as often as you’d like.
        The levels don’t provide any reward for finishing the game in any number of moves.
        There is no limit to the number of moves you can make. Keep playing until you get it.
        This makes the game quite beginner-friendly.
        You can always replay the level to beat your move score, but you must list that down yourself.
        Interface
        The move counter is on the upper left corner.
        On the upper right corner are 2 buttons.
        The reset button starts the level all over again.
        The home button brings you back to the level selection screen.
        Basic sokoban rules
        Push the boxes to the marked spaces where they should go.
        To push a box, stand beside the box on the opposite side of where you want it to move and walk toward that direction
        The box will only move if there is a free space available afterward. It will stop at a wall or another box.
        You cannot pull the boxes, so if it gets stuck (i.e. in a corner, beside another box with no other place to push), it’s stuck for good.
        Be prepared to move the box multiple times before you solve the puzzle.
        Once you’ve moved the boxes to their proper places, you’ve cleared the level.
        If you’re ever stuck, hit the reset button.
        Strategy
        Move with care. One wrong push can make the level impossible to solve.
        Don’t always go for the obvious; sometimes, solving one box immediately will make the other boxes impossible to solve
        Figure out where you should put the earlier boxes.
        Pay attention to the space needed to move the later boxes. This might be all you need to determine their placement order.
        Plot out your moves:
        Keep your paths open. This is vital when you need to turn around to push a box in another direction.
        Focus on moving the boxes to give you more open space to work with.
        Sometimes you’ve got to move back to give you more space to move.
        Don’t hesitate to restart if you’ve made a move that renders the puzzle unsolvable.
        Have patience. This is a game of trial and error.

        People who like logic puzzle games should enjoy this game.
        There are no adult themes in this game.
